Description
After a stay in Europe under Alfred Stieglitz's patronage, Marin set up his etching press at his home in New Jersey, traveling frequently to and from New York City. Inspired by the city's growth, Marin created a series of etchings that includes seven views of the Brooklyn Bridge and four of the Woolworth Building. This print and five others made between 1913 and 1915 were occasionally sold as a set under the title Six New York Etchings. All of the New York etchings were exhibited at Alfred Stieglitz's gallery 291.
