Lewis Wickes Hine (September 26, 1874 – November 3, 1940) was an American sociologist and muckraker photographer. His photographs taken during times such as the Progressive Era and the Great Depression captured young children working in harsh conditions, playing a role in bringing about the passage of the first child labor laws in the United States.

Hines served as a conservator at several institutions, including the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, D.C. He was a member of the Spiral collective and a contemporary of Romare Bearden. Hines' paintings can be found in the collection of the Smithsonian American Art Museum.

William Hiorne (c. 1712 – 22 April 1776) was an architect and builder based in Warwick. With his younger brother David Hiorne (1715–58), he worked for William Smith of Warwick and they succeeded Smith in business. His son, Francis Hiorne also became an architect. His memorial is in St Mary’s Church, Warwick.
