Gandy, John P.

David James Gandy (born 19 February 1980) is an English model and creative director who began his career after winning a televised model-search competition. Widely regarded as the most successful male model of all time, Gandy is both the highest-grossing male model in history as well as the only male to feature on the Forbes list of the world's highest-paid models more than once. The lead male model for Dolce & Gabbana for over a decade, Gandy is now the creative director of his eponymous brand. In an industry dominated by skinny models, Gandy's muscular build caused some menswear fashion designers to change standards. The increase in his popularity and name recognition resulted in a broad portfolio of magazine covers, editorial photo shoots, interviews and industry awards. He has gone on to participate in fashion-related and personal projects such as writing a blog for British Vogue, writing car reviews for British GQ, mobile app development and charity work.

Gangolf, Paul

Gangulphus of Burgundy (died 11 May 760 AD) is venerated as a martyr by the Catholic Church. Gangulphus was a Burgundian courtier whose historical existence can be attested by only a single document: a deed from the court of Pepin the Short, dated 762, attests that he was a great landowner, whose family dominated the region and exercised a lot of power. Gangulphus decided to renounce his wealth and become a hermit. Even so, he was subsequently killed by his wife's lover, who wished to remove Gangulphus as a possible interference to the adulterous relationship.

Ruth Chrisman Gannett (December 16, 1896 – December 8, 1979) was an American book illustrator. She was the illustrator of several award winning books, including the Newbery Medal winner Miss Hickory (1946) by Carolyn Sherwin Bailey, the Newbery Honor book My Father's Dragon (1948) by her stepdaughter Ruth Stiles Gannett, and the Caldecott Honor book My Mother Is the Most Beautiful Woman in the World (1945) by Becky Reyher.

Ada Vorhaus Gabriel (July 28, 1898 – 1975) was an American female Mid-century modern painter and lithographer. She studied at Barnard College, the New York School of Design, with Erich Gletter in Munich, and with Emil Ganso in New York. Her work is featured in the collections of The National Gallery of Art, Yale University Art Gallery, Fogg Museum, and Indianapolis Museum of Art.

Gantrel, Etienne

Jacques Lepautre or Le Pautre (c. 1653 – 1684) was a Parisian engraver active during the last quarter of the seventeenth century. Jacques was the son of the prolific printmaker Jean Lepautre (1618–1682) and nephew of architect Antoine Lepautre (1621–1679). Jacques's oeuvre (body of work) is significantly smaller than that of his father's: according to the Bibliothèque Nationale de France’s Inventaire du fonds français entry on the Lepautre family, the BNF’s Cabinet des estampes et de la photographie possesses fifty-eight works attributed to Jacques Lepautre. Lepautre is primarily known for his engravings after drawings of ballet and mascarade costume designs by Jean Bérain. These prints, like those by contemporary printmakers like Jean Dolivar (1641-1692) and others, present single characters positioned in the foreground of a shallow space, posed to display elegant and often extravagant costumes. Inscriptions on the surviving prints indicate that Lepautre’s works were issued not only from his father’s shop ("sous les Charniers St. Innocent") but also from Etienne Gantrel's L’Image St Maur and Nicolas Bonnart's L’Aigle Noir.
