The sitter, Lucille Corcos [1908-1973]; by inheritance to her son, David C. Levy [b. 1938], Washington;[1] gift December 1991 to the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington; acquired 2015 by the National Gallery of Art. [1] David Levy was President and Director of the Corcoran Gallery of Art from 1991 to 2006.
