Description

With this figurative painting of flowers, in the 1980s Erik Andriesse pitted himself against the strict, abstract, structural art of the previous generation. He preferred depicting the beauty of nature, which is as overwhelming as it is fleeting. The yellow background full of drips of paint intensifies the red of the wide open amaryllises.
