Description

Bisschop made his name with pictures of the striking, traditional interiors found in Hindeloopen, a village in the province of Friesland. Typical of this decor are the colourful curtain, Persian table carpet and richly painted drop-leaf table with a small sewing box. A young woman stands close to the window to catch the sunlight on her handiwork through the halfopened shutters. Her concentrated face is also visible in the mirror.
