Description

Abraham van Beyeren (1620/21 - 1690). Still life, c. 1660. The Hague painter Van Beyeren has assembled a colourful assortment of objects and fruits. This type of luxurious still life was in fashion around 1650. Van Beyeren specialized in the genre, following in the footsteps of Jan Davidsz de Heem, who developed this type of still life. Purchased in 1958.
