Description

The shipyard of the Amsterdam Admiralty by Ludolf Bakhuysen, c. 1660 Three man-of-war are under construction in the Admiralty shipyard. In the background is the central depot where provisions for the fleet were stored. After 1650 the harbourcomplex at Amsterdam was extended for the Admiralty, which had one of the largest workforces in the city.
