Description

Virtually nothing is known about the painter Martinus Nellius, only a few works by whom have been preserved. He must have been active in Leiden and The Hague and, like his contemporary Adriaen Coorte, specialized in still lifes with simple compositions featuring only a few objects or fruits rendered with a great eye for detail.
