Description

Two young men are playing cards together in a pub. The player on the left is revealing his hand: four aces. However, the player on the right is cheating: he secretly hides more cards under the table. To complete the scene, the painter added a little still-life to the composition: a glass of bitter next to a piece of chalk that the players use to keep score on the tabletop.
