Description
This triptych is the earliest known and best-preserved verre églomisé painting (a type of reverse painting on glass) from the northern Netherlands. It is still in its original frame. The donors depicted on the wings are Adriana van Rhoon (c. 1450-1527) and Dirck Pietersz Spangert (c. 1465-1549); she was the abbess and he the chaplain and jurist of Leeuwenhorst Abbey in Noordwijkerhout.
