Provenance

According to Wolfgang Wilhelm, the dealer who has been commissioned to sell the object, the disc brooch is the property of Dr. Hanns-Ulrich Haedeke of Solingen (Germany). Dr. Haedeke was curator of the Museum for Decorative Arts in Cologne until 1968 and Director of the Klingenmuseum ("blade museum") in Solingen. After his departure from Cologne, Dr. Haedeke started to collect jewelry.
