Amphoriskos

Description

Though now missing both of its original handles, this silver vessel is a miniature version of an amphora, known in Greek as an amphoriskos. Such miniature vessels, made from silver or other materials, were used from the 6th century BCE onwards to store perfumes or scented oils.
