Uncut Robe: Proper Left Front and Back Panel

Description

This is one of three panels of silk netting that would have been cut out and sewn into a gown. This continuous length of fabric would become the gown's proper left front and back panel. The airy fabric is embroidered in gold, white, blues, pinks, and violets with designs of phoenix birds, chrysanthemums, and symbols of longevity.
