Description
Born in Korea, Chunghi Choo was educated there in the art of Chinese painting. She came to the United States in 1961 to further her studies and graduated from Michigan’s Cranbrook Academy of Art with a background in metalworking, weaving, and ceramics. At Cranbrook she learned to meld the traditions of her Eastern and Western educations to create a style of silversmithing that was entirely her own. Her pieces, expressions of her love of the sumptuous and luxurious, exude a sense of freedom and energy.
