Description
The family-owned firm of Johan Backhausen & Söhne produced the majority of the Weiner Werkstätte’s early textiles. Although we don’t know who designed this ombré blue wave pattern, it is similar to work by Dagobert Peche. He used this shading effect in many of his textile designs for the workshop.
