Light, and David Tunick); Ruth Cole Kainen [1922-2009], Washington, D.C. (Lugt 4740); gift to NGA, 1986. [1] Confiscated in 1937 by the German government as "degenerate art," no. EK 13176, and sold by Buchholz Gallery, Berlin and New York, one of the agents appointed by the German government's Commission for the Exploitation of Degenerate Art to sell objects purged from German institutions.
