Erich Meyer [1893-1968], Görlitz, Silesia, Germany, probably before 1933; gift 1939 to his son, Dr. Dieter Erich Meyer [b. 1926], Berlin-Dahlem, Germany;[1] gift 1976 to NGA. [1] Letter from the donor, Dr. Dieter Erich Meyer, to Douglas Lewis, dated 29 December 1975 (in NGA curatorial files). Dr. Meyer received the bronze as a gift from his father in 1939. He remembered having seen it in the family home around 1933, when he was seven years old.
