Acquired in England[1] in 1947 by (Childs Gallery, Boston), by whom sold in 1948 to Edgar William and Bernice Chrysler Garbisch; gift to NGA, 1971. [1] Although the provenances of this painting and that of _The Domino Girl_ [NGA 1980.62.41, also formerly owned by the Garbisches], as far a they are known, are different, the works appear to be by the same hand.
